Service Co-ordination Event
Jane reminded the Group that this event is run by the County Council and brings representatives of the various services provided to the Parish to meet with the Parish Council and Parish Plan Group to discuss outstanding issues and produce a join action plan. The Parish Council has now agreed two representatives and this Group needs to field those most involved in the key areas identified in the previous WPPG meeting [all members of WPPG are welcome to attend]. The areas and PC/WPPG reps nominated were:- Off-road riding - Liz R, Peter C, Bob W
- Young People's Recreation Areas - Cllr Emma P, Cllr Les P
- Public Transport - Helen R, Helen H, Evergreens, Friends of the Cottage Surgery, Baptist Church - all to be asked
- Planning Issues - Jane W, Cllr Rosemary M, Cllr Mark W

The whole meeting was devoted to a discussion of the forthcoming event. Sarah C, Rural Services Co-ordinator, Chief Executive's Department, Leics County Council attended the meeting to brief the Group on the 18 February event.Background
Some 30 such events have been run across Leicestershire over the past ten years, five of then in Charnwood [Anstey, East Goscote, Hathern, and two in Mountsorrel].- Ten to twenty services are usually represented.
- The event will be chaired by a Mr Dirk van der Wardt from the Community Engagement Team at County Hall
Approach
The WWPG and PC should approach the meeting as follows:- Focus on the ideal solutions rather than any further detail of the problems or issues - all participants will have received a copy of the Action Plan published in the Parish Plan Report [updated with any progress achieved].
- Be open to other people's ideas
- Think 'outside the box' - other ways to achieve the outcomes
- Note the names of appropriate officers and others who can help to achieve the desired outcomes
On the day
- Sarah C will arrive around 3 p.m. to organise seating and refreshments. The usual layout is a circle of chairs.
- Everyone will have a badge
- The Chair will ask for introductions at the start
- The Chair of either Parish Council or Parish Plan Group could helpfully pick up any loose ends in a 5 minute slot at the end
Follow up
- An Action Plan and Minutes will be published.
- Progress is monitored by LCC at 3 and 6 months and most [60-65%] actions arising from the events are accomplished within 6 months.
