Matters arising

Finance

The budget balance is around 200.  Quotations for printing the final report are within the amount allocated in the budget.  The original grant application to the Countryside Agency proposed an in-kind contribution of 2050 based on a notional hourly rate of 6.25.  To date, the actual number of hours used up by all the helpers amounts to 7750 worth of time.

Feedback to residents

Members were asked to consider whether or not to attempt to distribute a leaflet to all residents now, or wait until the final report is ready, as this is so close to completion.  It was decided to leave this item over until the next meeting on 14 February.

Action Plan developments

Following our joint meeting with the Parish Council on 20 December, the Councillors met again on 7 January.  They endorsed the revised version of the Action Plan that was distributed with the Agenda for this meeting.  The Chair explained that the changes made by the Council were mainly to clarify points or to make slight shifts in emphasis.  The earlier version had been sent out to consultees, who may have comments for us to consider [comments due by end of January].

The Chair noted that the Council had agreed to the establishment of the proposed two working parties, reporting to the Council, comprising representatives of appropriate user groups and parish council representatives. They would consider the responses from the WPPG survey about [1] the play area and [2] the village hall, annexe and scout hut, and make recommendations to the Council about improvements.  The RCC is aware of numerous grants available and will let the groups know the details in due course.

Gaps exist in the columns allocated to Timescale, Priority, and Funding Levels and Sources.  Members were asked to work on these and report back to the Chair or Secretary by the end of January.  The Chair will work with the Parish Council Chair to add to these columns for those actions required by the Parish Council.
'''Action: WPPG Sub Groups'''

Following up other issues raised in the survey: AC has started up two reading groups in the Parish, the first of which was meeting this evening. Both Village Design Statement groups were established and operational.  Members from both groups will soon meet together to discuss ways of working together where appropriate [set for 1st February]. At its meeting on 10 January the Parish Council had agreed to give grants of 250 each to the Village Design Statement Groups, and had allocated 10,000 each to improving the children's play area and village hall.

MW has organised a Woodhouse Neighbourhood Watch [WNW] meeting for 7.30 on '''Thursday 27 January''' at which PC F and Inspector S from the Quorn police station will lead the resurrection of a local NW.  All residents indicating their interest in NW have been invited and all members of the WPPG were invited to attend.
'''Action: All WPPG members invited to attend'''

Final Report Structure

The Chair outlined a proposed structure for the final report: An Introduction comprising historical, geographical and statistical information about the Parish, followed by a section detailing the Processes involved in developing the Plan and Survey, followed by the Action Plan.  Pictures and photographs should punctuate the text.  The text currently included on the Action Plan could form the main body of the final report.  Members were asked to consider if the text should be amplified, perhaps including more details on the survey responses, and what illustrations and charts should be included.  Sub Groups were asked to contribute relevant material to the Chair or Secretary by the end of January.  It was noted that the Report should paint a picture to give a flavour of the Parish in the 21st Century.

There was some discussion about distributing and/or selling the final report.

Service providers are normally invited to the launch of Parish Plan Reports.  It was agreed to hold a launch event in the Village Hall on Thursday 14 April.
